Afrikaans Translators in Arizona

I have 20+ years experience specializing in translations to/from all of the official languages of the Republic of South Africa.

I am open to any field which would allow me to aid South African speaking individuals requiring someone to write, proofread or prepare professional letters, documents or forms relating to legal, educational, or any other matters of civil or government nature.

Although my career mainly focused on Human Resources and Labor Law in South Africa, I translated Policies and Procedures, Contracts and many other legal documents from English to Afrikaans or Afrikaans to English. I have translated from English and / or Afrikaans to African languages (Xhosa, Zulu, Sotho), although this is not my strongest trait. I am a perfectionist and deliver high quality work. Due to my working history I understand the importance of meeting deadlines.

During the past twenty years as a translator, interpreter, proofreader and voice over specialist,I have worked on many different projects. Therefore I have experience in a variety of fields. I am available on short notice.

Born and raised in South Africa, English is my native language, but I am also fluent in Afrikaans. We had to study Afrikaans as a second language throughout our school career. I also studied latin for five years in secondary school. Having graduated high school from Rhenish Girls\\' High in Stellenbosch, I went on to obtain my B.Com degree with majors in Information Systems, Accounting and Investment Managment, for which I studied two years at Stellenbosch University and two years at Randse Afrikaanse Universiteit (known as the University of Johannesburg today). Both were Afrikaans medium universities,and my friendship and extended family base is a good mix of English and Afrikaans speakers, so I feel I am well equipped to do translation work.

I am totally bilingual (Afrikaans and English) and have more than 12 years experience in translating, copy-editing and proofreading. I believe in ensuring that the product delivered to the client is the culmination of effort, time, research, knowledge and experience. I believe in adhering to deadlines and communicating with clients throughout the process to keep them informed.
