I am a freelance German to English translator, specializing in contracts, with over ten years of professional experience. hesaI am a full member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists in the UK. Translation formed an integral part of my undergraduate degree in German and French at the university, for which I gained first class honours (the highest mark for undergraduate degrees under the UK grading system). In 2010, I obtained a Graduate Diploma in Law. This is an intensive one-year course for non-law graduates, which is recognized by law firms and the Solicitors’ Regulation Authority (the professional body in England and Wales) as being equivalent to a law degree. In 2013, I gained an MA in German to English Legal Translation. I took and passed the following modules: legal language and terminology, translation of litigation documents, contract translation, translation of commercial law documents, translation of property lease agreements, translation of EU legislative texts, financial translation and setting up as a professional translator.
