Why it matters

On-site, and why us

Why choose on-site interpretation?

There are things an interpreter can only do when they’re physically present — read the room, handle documents, notice body language the camera doesn’t catch. For high-stakes situations, on-site is still the gold standard.

01How far in advance should I book an on-site interpreter?

For common languages (Spanish, Mandarin, Arabic, etc.), 3–5 business days is usually sufficient. For rare languages or highly specialized assignments (e.g., a Pashto interpreter for a medical deposition), 1–2 weeks is safer. For true emergencies, call us — we’ve filled same-day requests before.

02What areas do you cover for on-site interpretation?

All 50 U.S. states. Our network of 9,000+ interpreters is concentrated in major metro areas, but we regularly dispatch to suburban, rural, and remote locations. If there’s a courthouse, hospital, or conference center there — we’ve probably sent someone.

03Are your interpreters certified?

When certification is required — court certification for sworn proceedings, for example — we prioritize interpreters who hold it. When it isn’t a hard requirement, the deciding factors are subject-matter expertise and on-the-job experience. Tell us the setting and we’ll match accordingly.

04Do you provide simultaneous interpretation equipment?

Yes. For conferences and large events, we supply interpreter booths, transmitters, receivers, headsets, and portable tour-guide systems. Equipment setup, sound check, and on-site technical support are included. We handle the logistics so you don’t have to.

05Can I request the same interpreter for recurring assignments?

Absolutely — and many clients do. Continuity matters, especially in legal cases and ongoing medical treatment. When you request the same interpreter, they already know your context, your terminology, and your preferences. We prioritize recurring-client matching.
