I was raised by my mother who speaks Ilocano and father who is Visayan. Tagalog and Ilocano dialect/language has been part of our daily conversation at home and at school. I remember when me and my siblings have not started attending grade school yet, my parents have trained us to converse in English in our very young age.
My interest in language aroused more when I started attending school. I love reading textbooks. This has helped me be very particular with proper words and how we use them.

I am 35 year old Filipino-American who was born in California and have been raised speaking Tagalog. I have been to the Philippines over 10 times. I primarily go to hospitals and Public Health services for interpreting assignments.
I spent the first seventeen years of my life in Manila, the Philippines, before immigrating to California with my family. I have a BA in Linguistics from the University of California, Berkeley. My MS in Education, with a specialization in Intercultural Communication, is from the University of Pennsylvania.
My native fluency in both English and Tagalog, educational background, work experience, and personal interest have led me to healthcare interpreting (medical examinations and consultations, psychiatric evaluations, psychological testing, and physical and occupational rehab sessions) and translation (information packets, announcements, transcripts, flyers, and song lyrics). I am also an accomplished editor and have worked on both scholarly manuscripts and flight simulation manuals.
With me, you are assured of high-quality, professional work.
English is my first language, but Tagalog is my native tongue. I studied German in high school and learned Arabic in college. I am currently studying French and Mandarin/Cantonese.
I spent 20 years in the Philippines where I completed elementary and high school, as well as 3 years in university. I have a deep understanding of the language and the culture.
