I have seven years experience working in Japan as an intellectual property specialist filing and prosecuting US, EP, and JP patents as well as performing patent portfolio analysis for a Japanese electronic components manufacturer in their Intellectual Property department. I provide chaperoning, consecutive interpretation at invention disclosure and technical meetings as well as patent litigation related depositions.

I am a retired journalist/writer, born and schooled in Japan, but have spent the last 30 years working in the U.S. In the last 10 years, I have been working as interpreter at depositions/trials, performing legal document reviews and translating. After receiving a Master Degree in Translation and Interpretation from the Monterey Institute of International Studies (MIIS) in May, 2009, I have been working as a freelance translator and interpreter in many fields including politics, economics and medicine.
