I am a translator and interpreter working with English, Farsi, Armenian, and French. My interpretation practice focuses on consecutive delivery across on-site, telephone, and video remote settings. I facilitate communication for legal proceedings, medical appointments, social service interviews, and business meetings. My translation work covers a broad range of subjects including biology, patents, financial documents, consumer electronics, energy and environmental reports, textiles, and telecommunications. I hold a Certificate of Proficiency in Farsi and English from the American Literary Translators Association and maintain active membership in the American Translators Association. Whether handling complex technical manuals or sensitive legal depositions, I ensure precise terminology and clear communication in every project.
I have a Master's Degree in Linguistics, near native knowledge of Russian and English, in addition to native Armenian, over 10 years of experience in translation/interpretation, including simultaneous, of high-level diplomatic talks, negotiations, legal agreements, exceptional friendliness with technology.
I am armenian-lebanese, I had my education in Beirut, Lebanon in Arabic and French from K-12. At the university, the language of instruction was English. I have 2 bachelors degrees and M.A. in history. I came to the U.S. in 1988 and have been working as a secondary substitute teacher at L.A.U.S.D. for the last 11 years. During this time, I worked as an interpreter/translator for the courts, DMV, lawyers offices and private translation companies.
I am first and foremost an academician with Ph.D.s in History and Political Science, specializing in the Middle East. I teach at college and university (undergraduate) levels (for some 15 years now). I have worked as a journalist for more than 2 decades. I have done freelance translation since 1980 in Armenian, Arabic, and Turkish. I also do research in Classical Armenian and Ottoman Turkish. I am also a California Certified Real Estate Broker and a Certified Notary Signing Agent. For the past 5 years I have been involved in many translation/linguistic projects for the USA Federal Government in Washington DC and Overseas.
I have spent a number of years working as a translator and interpreter for companies operating in aviation, export, banking and finance. My knowledge of the commercial sector, and how it operates within Armenia, allows me to provide linguistic solutions backed up by sound business experience.
Armenian is my native language, but I am also fluent in Russian and English and have some knowledge of Arabic. I hold a first class degree in International Relations and am currently studying business at London School of Commerce. I have traveled widely throughout Europe in order to gain a greater understanding of foreign cultures, so important when working in such a global industry.
I have a University degree in Linguistics (major in English language) and 7 years full-time professional experience translating for a medical organization and a software company.
Bilingual with native command of Armenian and Russian. Over 8 years in web and software localization, provided translation and review for Google Inc, Microsoft, Samsung, Nokia; marketing materials for Ford Motors, Nathan Associates, USAID and the UN. MA degree in social sciences.
