When I immigrated to the United States at the age of fifteen I did not speak any other language but Serbian, my mother tongue. Within two years of living in the United States, I was able to learn and become fluent in both English and Spanish and am able to translate between the three languages paired in any way. I have a passion and a talent for learning foreign languages and I have used my talent continuously at my previous jobs to translate/interpret for the upper management in negotiating business deals on a global scale. Based on the above, I strongly feel and believe that I would be a great asset to your organization.

My experience includes 4 years living in Croatia, where, as the translation and interpretation coordinator for the European Community Monitor Mission, my responsibilities included translating a wide variety of general and specialized texts from Croatian into English and vice-versa, consecutive and escort interpreting, managing a 10-member translation team, editing, and proofreading. In addition, I developed and implemented interpreter role-play training scenarios and tested and trained all interpreter and translator candidates for the ECMM’s large roster of freelancers. I have also lived in Germany and studied business and economics (in German) as well as German language at the University of Kiel. As in-house technical documentation staff for a German-owned US company for 10 years, I have extensive experience translating technical specifications, operations manuals and research reports relating to industrial equipment, as well as advertising materials, financial and legal documents, and news articles.

I have been translating Serbian all my life. My parents hardly knew English when they came to America. I grew up in America and my English is superb! My Serbian skills are also grand because I have translated all my life. I would love to have an opportunity to represent both countries as a translator!

As a native Slovenian (with near-native command of Croatian, Bosnian, Serbian languages) living in New York City, I have been translating, editing, interpreting, project managing for over 10 years, working with English, Slovene, Croatian, Bosnian, Serbian, French languages, and acquired substantial knowledge and experience in various fields. I have been helping clients with their translation needs for many years while working as an insurance agent in Chicago. I can help with translating documents, filling out applications, explanation of complicated terminology and much more. I am currently certified in Canada for the following language combinations: Serbo-Croatian into English, English into Serbian and Slovenian into English. I have 20 years of experience in the business, and the bulk of my work consists of translating & proofreading documents from English into Serbian (medicine, law) and translating material from Slovenian into English (law and finance). I am a highly literate perfectionist with excellent research skills, ample experience and considerable linguistic resources at my disposal.
