Haitian Creole Translators in Illinois

I am a published writer, poet, professional translator, interpreter,journalist and language teacher. I have studied Social Sciences and Philosophy in the US and the UK. I have completed my studies in my native Languages: Haitian-Creole and French. I live between Chicago, IL and Florida. I have completed studies in Journalism and Communication. I have taught modern languages: French, Creole, English, and Spanish to people from all over the world.

Marleen has been working in the language industry for over 15 years. Her passion for the Haitian Creole language and the need of the industry for tools to communicate effectively with Haitian Creole speakers led her to launch Creole Solutions, Inc. Marleen has provided translation services for many major organizations and government institutions, devoting herself to the ongoing contribution of bettering the lives of the Haitian people, as well as the development of the Haitian Creole language. Her educational history spans across several countries, including Haiti, the United States and France. She holds multiple degrees, most notably a Master’s Degree in International Development from the Institut d’Études Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po). Before becoming a full-time translator, Marleen worked for the Consulate General of Haiti in Chicago and the United Nations Environment Program in Haiti. --- Marleen has been recognized by numerous translation associations such as the American Translators Association and Chicago Area Translators and Interpreters Association. She also provides pro bono translation services regularly for humanitarian non-profits through Translators Without Borders.
