I grew up in a Thai household and only spoke Thai at home. My parents have always taught me to speak politely and I am confident in my abilities to translate spoken Thai. I can read and write in Thai. I have a B.S. in biochemistry and a minor in legal studies and can quickly learn the technical terms in Thai.
