I began translating over 40 years ago but spent many of those years as a practicing lawyer. In the last 5 years I have had considerable experience both in interpreting (mostly at depositions, but also in court and at medical facilities.) I speak Hebrew and English at mother-tongue level and I am fluent in French. My legal background gives me a significant advantage in both interpreting and translating.

I have been working as a German translator for the past 7 years (with two years interpretation experience). Briefly, I will outline some of my qualifications and their relevance. I was born in Germany, where I spent the first 20 years of my life. German, then, is my mother tongue and I am completely fluent in all aspects of the language. In addition, I acquired fluency in English and Hebrew. After moving to Israel, I received a B.A. in Middle Eastern Studies and Political Science from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel (the language of instruction was Hebrew). The university placed significant emphasis on language skills, and it was there that I acquired working knowledge of French and Arabic.

My name is Mary Jane. I was born, raised, and educated in the USA. After completing my university education, I lived and worked in Israel for more than three decades. I now work as a freelance Hebrew translator, interpreter and language consultant based in Los Angeles. My background includes over 15 years of experience in the Israeli high-tech sector, where I translated different materials from Hebrew into English, including user guides and marketing brochures. In recent years I have also translated, source material for films, children's books in rhyme, personal memoirs, legal, medical, and business material, and various other kinds of documents. For the last four years, I have served as a registered Hebrew court interpreter in legal, medical, and school settings in the Los Angeles area, including court trials, depositions, medical consultations, and IEPs for the LAUSD.

I am a native Hebrew speaker providing translation services from English to Hebrew. Abundantly exposed to a technical communication and translation environment coupled with my passion for entertainment technologies provide me with a unique skill set for translating all things game, film, or advertisement related.

Israeli attorney and California State Registered Court Interpreter. Specialize in translating legal documents and also work with marketing, financial, health care, finance, military, educational and personal documents. Additional services include editing, proofreading, research of Israeli legislation for law firms and scholars and interpreting for California courts, businesses, private clients and translating agencies.

My strength as a translator is not only based in my knowledge of both Hebrew and English, it is a result of my love and talent for communication and my ability to understand and interpret content quickly and efficiently. I read and write with a sense of empathy and focus, connecting with the objective of the text as best as possible, and therefore with the objective of the company/person for which I am translating. I began translating text early on for family members' freelance businesses and for the past year have worked for an Israeli company, assisting not only with translation, but with editing and content research for building up their website.
