I have been in this line of work for almost twenty years. I have had great clients - both in the private sector and on the side of the government. I am on the roster of contract interpreters with the Department of State, for BCS (Bosnian, Croatian, Serbian). I also love to do translations, and have, for example, enjoyed very much my work as a reviewer for the Croatian Edition of the National Geographic Magazine.
My native language is Serbo-Croatian, meaning that I speak a language that has at least four different names. I have written a number of articles in English, on topics ranging from health to electronics. Also I have experience in translating documents on various topics. Before I came to the USA my major was English language and literature.
I have been translating and interpreting in various fields for almost a decade now. Having lived in all three countries whose languages I speak proficiently, I feel that I can easily overcome all cultural barriers that might seem challenging in translating or interpreting.
I have a Bachelor\'s Degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Belgrade, Serbia. I am also a professional court translator and interpreter, specialized in the areas noted above. I have been doing interpreting in the State of Connecticut, mostly in courts, at the depositions, and hospitals, but now I am doing more written translations,due to the fact that I will not be able to travel in order to interpret.
Having an education in Pharmacy, Business and Chemistry makes me a great candidate to interpret in hospitals, courts and schools. My work experience has been working in school, hospital and research companies, and therefore I have great communication skills with different subject knowledge which helps with interpreting and translating.

My experience includes 4 years living in Croatia, where, as the translation and interpretation coordinator for the European Community Monitor Mission, my responsibilities included translating a wide variety of general and specialized texts from Croatian into English and vice-versa, consecutive and escort interpreting, managing a 10-member translation team, editing, and proofreading. In addition, I developed and implemented interpreter role-play training scenarios and tested and trained all interpreter and translator candidates for the ECMM’s large roster of freelancers.
I have also lived in Germany and studied business and economics (in German) as well as German language at the University of Kiel. As in-house technical documentation staff for a German-owned US company for 10 years, I have extensive experience translating technical specifications, operations manuals and research reports relating to industrial equipment, as well as advertising materials, financial and legal documents, and news articles.
As a native Slovenian (with near-native command of Croatian, Bosnian, Serbian languages) living in New York City, I have been translating, editing, interpreting, project managing for over 10 years, working with English, Slovene, Croatian, Bosnian, Serbian, French languages, and acquired substantial knowledge and experience in various fields.
