I have great patience, exceptional communication skills, and a fine reputation as a presentable and very well groomed excellent Haitian Creole interpreter. Due to my Haitian background, and working as an interpreter since 1994 for various courts, law firms, medical establishments and city government and agencies, I have acquired the ability and experience to interpret Haitian Creole on a professional level.

I work as a French-English, Spanish-English, and Haitian Creole-English linguist, delivering both translation and consecutive interpretation. My practice focuses on legal and medical settings, where I facilitate clear communication for on-site appointments, telephone calls, and video remote sessions. I also translate written documents within these specialized fields to ensure accuracy across languages. Beyond direct language services, I bring a background in literacy instruction and life skills coaching gained through international volunteer work. Marleen has been working in the language industry for over 15 years. Her passion for the Haitian Creole language and the need of the industry for tools to communicate effectively with Haitian Creole speakers led her to launch Creole Solutions, Inc. Marleen has provided translation services for many major organizations and government institutions, devoting herself to the ongoing contribution of bettering the lives of the Haitian people, as well as the development of the Haitian Creole language. Her educational history spans across several countries, including Haiti, the United States and France. She holds multiple degrees, most notably a Master’s Degree in International Development from the Institut d’Études Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po). Before becoming a full-time translator, Marleen worked for the Consulate General of Haiti in Chicago and the United Nations Environment Program in Haiti. --- Marleen has been recognized by numerous translation associations such as the American Translators Association and Chicago Area Translators and Interpreters Association. She also provides pro bono translation services regularly for humanitarian non-profits through Translators Without Borders.

I am a Spanish interpreter and translator with 3 years of interpretation and translation experience. I am a native speaker of English (US), and fluent/with translation and translation project management experience in: Spanish, French, Portuguese, Yucatecan Mayan, and Haitian Creole. I have a large amount of experience in legal and medical document translation in all mentioned languages, and a fair amount of experience translating video game materials from all mentioned languages other than Yucatecan Mayan.
