I have successfully translated documents in numerous fields; for example, fasion (coach bag brand being the most recent), business documents (most recent documents were email correspondence translations), magazine articles (introduction of a MLM company), ads (various electronic products), etc. I am experienced with customers (have worked as an English customer service rep on the phone, and currently work as a Japanese speaking one).

I am a freelance translator providing translation services from Japanese to English for technical materials including automotive related materials, patents, technical reports, computer hardware, energy, renewable energy, and related materials. My background for patent translation and technical translation is extensive. I have lived in Japan for a total of 8 years, 6 years of which were as an engineer in the automotive industry. I dealt in detail with both electronic control and mechanical systems as an engineer. A very enjoyable experience was working as a current model engineer for the vehicle computer for a customer. I gained considerable understanding of electronic components, electronic control, and quality management systems while working in this position. In my educational background, I learned about internal combustion engines, gas turbines, Rankine cycles, and other thermal energy related cycles at a very detailed level with thermodynamics as an emphasis within my Mechanical Engineering degrees. I have both a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering. I started working full time as a freelance translator soon after completing my Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 2003 and have now worked full time as a freelance translator for 15 years. This has been an enjoyable process and I have learned and grown extensively over this time. My expertise in translation has developed on the solid foundation described above over this time period.
