I come from a multi-cultural country (Lebanon), where East meets West, and where I grew up communicating (in writing and in speech)in English and French alongside with Arabic - my native language. I consider myself very fortunate to be endowed with the ability to work with all three languages with almost the same level of fluency. Recently, Spanish caught my attention and I took a 2-year one-on-one Spanish class, from which I graduated straight into Spanish > English translation.

Most of my translations were/are in religion, History/Geography for my Church which is worldwide. My work has been met with enthusiastic satisfaction. I am good at English proofreading.

I am fluent in Arabic, Kurdish and Assyrian and proficient in Turkish and English.

Growing up in Morocco, I learned French and Arabic at an early age. Going to Undergraduate school in the United States helped me master my English. Graduating in Pharmacy in Switzerland in French explains my knowledge in Sciences: Chemistry, Physics, Biology.

I am armenian-lebanese, I had my education in Beirut, Lebanon in Arabic and French from K-12. At the university, the language of instruction was English. I have 2 bachelors degrees and M.A. in history. I came to the U.S. in 1988 and have been working as a secondary substitute teacher at L.A.U.S.D. for the last 11 years. During this time, I worked as an interpreter/translator for the courts, DMV, lawyers offices and private translation companies.

I am first and foremost an academician with Ph.D.s in History and Political Science, specializing in the Middle East. I teach at college and university (undergraduate) levels (for some 15 years now). I have worked as a journalist for more than 2 decades. I have done freelance translation since 1980 in Armenian, Arabic, and Turkish. I also do research in Classical Armenian and Ottoman Turkish. I am also a California Certified Real Estate Broker and a Certified Notary Signing Agent. For the past 5 years I have been involved in many translation/linguistic projects for the USA Federal Government in Washington DC and Overseas.

After I got my diploma in teaching English as a second language in 1987, I started my career in teaching and translating until this very day .Between 1986-2001, along with my job as a teacher I also worked as a receptionist in a five-star hotel where I met with people speaking English and Arabic from all over the World. That enhanced my love of languages and triggered my linguistic curiosity to make language learning, teaching and translating my passion in life. In 1991, I graduated from Jordan University where I earned my baccalaureate degree in English Literature and Linguistics to go back to my job as a teacher for the Ministry of Education in Jordan. In 2001, I graduated from Jordan University where I earned my masters degree in English/ Arabic translation which qualifies me to teach both languages and translate between them. I also taught there as a student and after graduation. They selected the best graduate students to teach there. Currently, I am working for St.George Melkite Church in Sacramento, California as a translator, interpreter and teacher of English and Arabic. This church immigrated to America almost 150 years ago from the Holy Land and most of our parishioners come from the Middle East and the Arab World .There is a need to use both languages. My strengths include being able to work well with a variety of personalities, to converse with anyone, and to enter easily into new situations with a creative and resourceful attitude. In addition, I am very detail oriented, persistent, and punctual and a team player. I also have a great understanding and a long experience dealing with diverse student groups, including but not limited to diversity relating to academic preparation, socioeconomic level, age, religion, ethnicity and culture, sexual orientation, gender identity and disability.
