I believe that translators should be capable of discerning subtleties and nuances, researching terminology and colloquialisms, and handling new developments in their languages. For this purpose, I always read related material and learn the basics and some of the details about the subjects I am dealing with. In my work I always try to strike a balance between faithfulness to the source text and readability in the target language.

I am an experienced Japanese interpreter looking for either an interpreting telecommuting job or a document translation job. I am an independent Japanese language verbal interpreter and written translator based in San Francisco, California. I was born in Japan but moved to S.F. when I was three years old. I was raised speaking Japanese at home, attending regular American schools during the week and a Japanese language school on Saturdays. In addition, I spent a summer and two semesters at a Japanese university, and also lived and worked in Tokyo for over five years as a "salary man". I am thus completely bilingual and bi-cultural.

I am an English to Japanese translator ad interpreter for over 15 years. I am particulary strong in business negotiations between Japanese and English speakings clients on TV, film deals, tradeshows and various other entertainment fields. I have been working on translations with LA and NY based publishers for a while now. During my career, I have professionally translated scripts, contracts and agreements, comic books, and documents from English into Japanese and vice versa.

I am a seasoned Japanese interpreter with over 10 years of experience. Having worked for US based internet companies for decades as an executive in strategy and marketing, I am proficient in Japanese to English or English to Japanese interpretation. I am also proficient in the world of education, now as a MEd candidate in an American University. I hold B.A. in Economics from Keio University and MBA from Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Very fluent in both English - Japanese. For the time being, I prefer working with written language translations.
