A bilingual Japanese engineer, with administrative and management skills in international business. Born and educated in Japan, has lived over 30 years in Britain and the U.S.A. Has demonstrated success in manufacturing, negotiating/setting up import/export business, wholesale/retail businesses and under-license manufacturing in Europe, Australia and Japan. I have been an interpreter for over 25 years in the fields of engineering (manufacturing, software, semiconductor, etc) and, especially in the last few years, the pharmaceutical and medical device industries. In 2005, The Japanese Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Agency (PMDA) started auditing manufacturing plants outside of Japan, who manufacture products for the Japanese market. I have interpreted during internal and PMDA audits/inspections in the USA, Europe, Canada, Puerto Rico and the Bahamas on more than 20 occasions in the last two years.

I\\'ve worked for the past ten years as a freelance Japanese->English translator. My area of expertise is entertainment/media. I have an extensive background in both Japanese and American pop culture, and I\\'m adept at localizing a translation so that it reads smoothly in English. Also, I\\'m logical and an analytical thinker who pays attention to details.

I am an ATA-certified Japanese-to-English translator with more than a decade\\'s experience as a full-time freelancer. My primary focus is medical and pharmaceutical material, but I have experience working in a wide variety of other fields as well.
