In a nutshell, I have a B.A degree in English with major in translation from University of Alexandria, Egypt May 1999, I am a native speaker of Arabic and I live in Washington DC, metro area. I have more than 12 years of professional experience working in bilingual positions in many countries as well as a freelancer translating projects in various fields including medical, legal, publications, financial and others.

Native Arabic linguist: Modern Standard, Levantine/Syrian and Gulf dialects. In depth knowledge of geopolitics, social and cultural aspects of the Middle East and North Africa. DLPT Scores: Arabic / English 4+ and 5s (provided upon request.) Deployment to the Middle East (Qatar and Kuwait) as a linguist in support of Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) and Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI.)Advised AFOSI officers on Middle Eastern culture and customs. Established and maintained liaison relationships with Kuwaiti law enforcement,military and civilian intelligence agencies and members of the Royal Family. Collected, analyzed, and evaluated information of political and military topics. Translated Arabic language written and voice products into English. Translated the Arabic script for the newly released Hollywood Warner Bros movie "Body of Lies". Translated German language written and multi-media products into English. Consecutive interpretation for the Armed Services Board of Contract Appeals (ASBCA), Worker's Compensation Fund, Immigration and Naturalization Services, and various law offices and physicians and health care providers.

I worked as an interpreter, editor, translator, and proofreader at Akhbar Elyoum Publishing House in Egypt for two years. I worked as English and Arabic teacher, tour guide, and a translator for some offices and companies. I worked as a bilingual customer service representative for two years. I have worked for eight years in interpretation, translation, editing, proofreading, writing and journalism. Currently, I have my own business and still working as a freelancer and perform projects on my own or with my staff.

I am an Arabic interpreter specializing in medical and legal interpretation having done assignments at children hospitals, Mary Washington, INOVA, and John Hopkins. I worked for the Egyptian Television as a simultaneous interpreter in 2002. I have been working as a court interpreter with Virginia court system since 2016.
