An experienced freelance linguist with a master\'s degree in translation from Kent State University. Miguel has been involved in the language industry since 1998 in the areas of tourism and hospitality. In March 2009 he started working mostly as an English <> Spanish interpreter in healthcare and community settings. His translation career has also been focused in the medical and pharmaceutical field translating documents such as clinical trials, products leaflets, questionnaires, and child development evaluation reports. Additionally, he translates a variety of commercial material and legal documents from English to Spanish and Portuguese to Spanish, for individuals, companies and translation agencies in the United States and abroad. Miguel has hands on experience working with computers and computer programs, and understands HTML coding and CSS. As part of his studies at Kent State, he undertook and successfully completed coursework in Software and Website Localization, Multilingual Documents and Translation into Spanish. Some of the projects associated with these classes required translation of Help Files, localization of executable files, creation of a website using HTML/CSS, as well as localize all aspects of a small website. Miguel is originally from Venezuela and has been residing in the United States since October 2006.

I believe I do my best work in subjects that deal with economics, finance, international affairs, insurance, and human resources. However, the range of documents I have translated over 20 years is quite comprehensive. Meeting deadlines is my strength.

Although I specialize in common areas, my sub-specialties are unique. For example, I sub-specialize in Special Education. I've come to learn that disabilties are not limited to native English-speaking students. For two years, I have worked for an Education Services organization that serves numerous native Spanish-speaking children and families. We specialize in teaching students with severe disabilities, and I've often done translating and interpreting projects so that families can get help for their children, even if they speak minimal English.

As a linguist, I am passionate about my craft and committed to providing my clients with only the highest quality of work. I excel at providing accurate and culturally appropriate translations for US Spanish/English and Latin American Spanish.
