ATA-certified Russian translator with years of experience. I use WordFast as my translation tool which is fully compatible with Trados.

Fully fluent in both Russian and English, I have a bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University and a certificate of fluency from the SEND International Language School in Kiev, Ukraine. I enjoy translating and especially the challenge of making a text flow and sound natural to native speakers. I lived and worked in Ukraine for 8 years and my husband is Ukrainian. We speak Russian at home. These "facts of life" give me an edge as an American who is able to translate from the Russian language into English. I have done translation work for small businesses, doctors, computer programmers, non-profit organizations, and religious groups.

I worked as a translator since early 1990s. Over the years I secured several large Russian translation contracts which require that I work with a separate editor and a typesetter. Therefore, I am able to provide full Russian translation, editing and typesetting service. I own PC and Mac computers and a huge collection of software. I can complete almost any Russian typesetting assignment. I work with Trados, SDLX, DVX, WorldServer almost daily. Some of my clients: Caterpillar, Beckman Coulter, AstraZeneca, etc. I am a holder of one English to Russian translator certification, and two interpreter certifications (Social and Health services, and medical interpreter). However, I only specialize in translations.

During my work as a freelance translator I have gained experience in the following fields: Medical articles, reports, past medical histories (PMH), med. references, professional database of telemedicine services, reports for JNC on blood pressure, multiple cancer-related articles for The Israel Cancer Association, clinical trials, etc. (work with experts in medicine for proofreading and checking terminology accuracy); Pharmaceutical brochures, patient package inserts; Manuals for food and dietary supplements; Manuals for cosmetologists, step-by-step skincare programs, detailed descriptions of cosmetic products, glossary of medicinal herbs; Advertising materials, presentations (PowerPoint); Insurance programs; Employees evaluation questionnaires, Labor safety instructions; Legal materials, contracts, official certificates, immigration, legalization, court records, declarations, testimonials, disclaimers, NDA's, etc.

I am fluent in Turkish and Uzbek, can understand, read and write Russian,somewhat fluent in Russian.

I have experience in the area in education, energy (nuclear and solar energy), accounting, science, idioms and conversations.

I grew up speaking both English and Russian -- so they are both native, in a sense. Have been working as a professional interpreter since 1996, and hold current certifications as a Court Interpreter in the States of OR and WA (and reciprocal in AK and OH) and Medical (WA DSHS). I specialize in telephone interpreting and VRI (have been providing these services to the courts since 2009), transcreation and literary translation (Graduated from AWAI with a certificate in copywriting, have experience translating rhymed poetry into English) and quality legal, medical and biology related translation.
