I am a Harvard-educated native English speaker and I hold advanced certification in Japanese. My proficiency in Japanese comes from almost two years spent working in Japan as a company-based translator/editor/proofreader and English teacher. My experience there included editing translated academic and technical papers for scores of professors across Japan, transcribing barely audible interviews conducted with non-native speakers of English, and translating scripts of various types both into and out of Japanese. I work in collaboration with my husband, Nobuto I., who is a native Japanese speaker with five years of experience as a Japanese magazine writer and editor. He holds a college degree in International Business Management.
