My professional experience involved extensive technical and business writing in and translating into and from English, Portuguese, Spanish, and Swedish. Since November 1978, I have been working as a full-time translator for translation bureaus, U.S. Government agencies, and corporate customers, among them several Fortune 500 corporations. Yearly translation volume: approx. 1.3 million words.
I work sometimes as a direct translator and/or proofreader and at other times as a project manager with a team of Hungarian translators with whom I have had a long-term working relationship. This allows us to pool the best resources available to successfully perform all kinds of assignments. The key difference between me and many other translators in the field is the constant attention to quality without sacrificing speed.
Although I have selected just one area as a discipline, I do not quite know if this is a specialty or not. I have excellent language skills in both Bengali and English.
