I worked as a linguist for three years with the US Army in Iraq.

I am a native speaker of arabic with good command of english and french. I translated and interpreted hundreds of documents and speeches for prominent scholars and writers from middle eastern origins.

As a National Security Education Program fellow, Aug. 2006-May 2008, I concentrated on studies in Arabic language,linguistics, and literature, with a specialization in Arabic to English translation, and obtained a level of Advanced High (3+ on the IELTR government scale). My translation focus is media, government/NGO reports, and social science research, but I have translated literary and legal texts as well. I have also just finished studying Arabic in Damascus, Syria, for 12 months, and am proficient in Modern Standard Arabic as well as Syrian dialect at the professional level, as well as having become familiar with the cultural and religious background necessary to obtain full comprehension of the Arabic language.

Arabic is my mother tongue, fluently written and spoken. Went to a French school and French is fluently written and spoken also. English as a second language fluently written and spoken.
