Professional experience till now I mostly gained in another area though, which is I have been translating press releases for World Evangelical Alliance from English to German since 2006.
My experience in consecutive translation is in the same field of Christian religion as I have served in our church as English – German translator for five years regularly several times per week from one half to several hours. This was consecutive translation of sermons and Bible Studies with the attempt to come as close to simultaneous as possible given the listener still seems to understand the mix of two languages at the same time.
I am familiar with different cultural settings as I studied on site in Germany and South Korea and online in San Francisco, CA.

In 2010, I obtained a Graduate Diploma in Law. This is an intensive one-year course for non-law graduates, which is recognized by law firms and the Solicitors’ Regulation Authority (the professional body in England and Wales) as being equivalent to a law degree.
In 2013, I gained an MA in German to English Legal Translation. I took and passed the following modules: legal language and terminology, translation of litigation documents, contract translation, translation of commercial law documents, translation of property lease agreements, translation of EU legislative texts, financial translation and setting up as a professional translator. My dissertation was a translation of a German court ruling, together with a reflective commentary about the translation challenges involved.
