I translate Latin into English or Hungarian. I also translate videos and do timing and voiceovers in Hungarian. Hungarian can be the target language for any of my source languages. I am a price-winning author-writer-journalist in both English and Hungarian.
I am a native German. As a Chemist I worked with a German company that later on became part of an American company. Twelve years later a Finnish mother-company followed. English was the companies' language(s) all the time. For the last 16 years I specialized on handling patents, patents documents, and patent literature. Since 2007 I live in the US and am self-employed in the patent search field.
During the past 11 years I lived and worked in Germany and Austria as English/German instructor and translator. I taught business English at a German university from 2003 to 2010. I hold a PhD degree in Germanic Languages from the University of California, Los Angeles.
My original skills are in Latin and Ancient Greek, translating into and from both, and moderating forums in both ancient languages for the past four years. Besides these, I have taught both German and French in universities. Two years in Greece and a year in Germany made me fluent in modern Greek and German. I have been translating and proofreading professionally for the past 3 years.
I have been working as a translator and interpreter for over 16 years. I studied Translating and Interpreting (Romanian, German, English) at the University of Bucharest and the University of Vienna and was certified by the Romanian Ministry of Justice.

Being Slovene and having studied Slavic Studies and American Studies in Berlin, Germany (B.A., at Humboldt-Universitat zu Berlin), I am fluent in written and spoken English, German, Slovene, and Bosnian/ Croatian/ Serbian (former "Serbocroatian"). In addition, I am able to translate and interpret from and into the above listed languages (with Slovene and English as best target languages), can proofread texts written in Slovene, teach English (as a foreign language), and am familiar with the histories and cultures of the USA, Germany, Middle Europe, and of the Balkans (I also lived in all of these areas for extended periods of time).
