I am a native German. As a Chemist I worked with a German company that later on became part of an American company. Twelve years later a Finnish mother-company followed. English was the companies' language(s) all the time. For the last 16 years I specialized on handling patents, patents documents, and patent literature. Since 2007 I live in the US and am self-employed in the patent search field.

I have many years of experience in the translation - interpreting business.

Being Slovene and having studied Slavic Studies and American Studies in Berlin, Germany (B.A., at Humboldt-Universitat zu Berlin), I am fluent in written and spoken English, German, Slovene, and Bosnian/ Croatian/ Serbian (former "Serbocroatian"). In addition, I am able to translate and interpret from and into the above listed languages (with Slovene and English as best target languages), can proofread texts written in Slovene, teach English (as a foreign language), and am familiar with the histories and cultures of the USA, Germany, Middle Europe, and of the Balkans (I also lived in all of these areas for extended periods of time).

I do speak fluent German,Russian,Uzbek and English is basic. I do have a strong educational background and work experience related to my education. I am a native of Germany who has lived in the United States for over 14 years. In Germany, I was a teacher of German and Biology. Translated literature texts from Indonesian into German (Indonesian short stories, published), copy wrote and translated the content of our project website from German into Indonesian, translated daily briefings from German into English while working as a marketing researcher, co-edited a volume on Indonesia's democratization in English (which included writing an academic article in English as well as proofreading and translating other author's papers), wrote my PhD thesis in English, etc.

My technical knowledge comes from my experience as a translator and interpreter on paper and on-site collaborating directly with technicians, and also from my experience as project manager at an Italian company that designs and manufactures welding installations for the automotive industry.Moreover, in my work experience I have developed strong organizatorial and managing skills dealing with customers and suppliers as project manager, besides the self-managing abilities coming from my experience as a freelancer, accompanied by a great attention to details and fast learning skills.

I hold a translation Degree from the University of Heidelberg.
