By profession, I am a Certified Public Accountant, but I also work part time with several agencies by providing them with translation services. For instance, my assignment with a language assessment company includes designing reading and listening to tests in Azerbaijani (or Azeri) for examinees. I also work on the Teaching of Foreign Languages by conducting oral proficiency tests in Azeri. I hold ILR language tester certification. In addition, I also work with the Law Clinics by translating various documents from Azeri to English and from English to Azeri. My strong writing and oral proficiency of Azeri have also attracted the attention of Azeri media and foreign media airing its programs in Azeri. I occasionally give interviews to various radio and TV stations as well as newspapers in Azeri and also write short articles for various Internet forums and also local newspapers based in Azerbaijan. I am also a very active community leader who is frequently involved in various cultural events and political campaigns. I am a regional vice president for the Azerbaijani Society of America by representing this organization in Washington DC area. I work for the Federal government and I am a U.S. citizen. In the past, I have held secret security clearance, but I am not sure if it is still active.

I am first and foremost an academician with Ph.D.s in History and Political Science, specializing in the Middle East. I teach at college and university (undergraduate) levels (for some 15 years now). I have worked as a journalist for more than 2 decades. I have done freelance translation since 1980 in Armenian, Arabic, and Turkish. I also do research in Classical Armenian and Ottoman Turkish.
