I am a native German. As a Chemist I worked with a German company that later on became part of an American company. Twelve years later a Finnish mother-company followed. Strengths as a linguist include all forms of translation and interpretation. I lived immersed in the culture and language for two years and continue to study daily. My background for patent translation and technical translation is extensive. I have lived in Japan for a total of 8 years, 6 years of which were as an engineer in the automotive industry. In my educational background, I learned about internal combustion engines, gas turbines, Rankine cycles, and other thermal energy related cycles at a very detailed level with thermodynamics as an emphasis within my Mechanical Engineering degrees. I have both a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering. I started working full time as a freelance translator soon after completing my Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 2003 and have now worked full time as a freelance translator for 15 years. This has been an enjoyable process and I have learned and grown extensively over this time. My expertise in translation has developed on the solid foundation described above over this time period.
