I have voluntarily and consciously treasured and preserved my bi-cultural background because I realize how remarkable different minority cultures (e.g. Vietnamese-American) have contributed to enrich this multicultural wealth. Over six years working in different American medical facilities as an interpreter and in other positions, I have accumulated valuable experiences and nurtured the idea of helping poor Vietnamese-American LEPs to access health care more efficiently and so be able to improve their quality of life.
