My academic background includes an M.A. in Spanish Literature and an M.A. in Individualized Study with a major in Health Anthropology. With field work in Brazil, five years of residence and study there, and attendance, I bring deep cultural and linguistic insight to my practice. I provide consecutive and simultaneous interpretation via telephone and video remote settings, working from English, French, and Brazilian Portuguese into Spanish. I have more than 20 years' experience as a translator and interpreter of Brazilian Portuguese. A highly skilled editor, writer and social science researcher, I have worked in Brazil, the United States and other countries for nonprofit organizations. My experience includes interviewing and being interviewed in Portuguese, translating and editing books in Portuguese, writing articles in Portuguese for a Brazilian publication, and working as a contract interpreter and lecturer in Brazil and the United States for the U.S. State Department.
