I am fully fluent in English and Portuguese.

I have over 20 years of experience translating and interpreting in several different areas. My educational background is translation and interpreting studies. I have just completed my MA in Translation Studies (summer 2007)and am in the PhD program of Comparative Literature at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

I have been a student of the Spanish language for over ten years. I recently spent four years immersed in Spanish while living and working in Madrid, Spain. While in Madrid I was often forced to translate between Spanish and English, as well as frequently speak on the phone in Spanish and interact with the local Spanish population.

B.A. in Translation and Interpreting from top Spanish University (Universidad Autonoma de Barcelona) (2000) Extensive professional experience as a translator, copywriter, proofreader and reporter. Good knowledge of health, biomedicine, marketing and advertising issues.

I have an MA in Translation, University of Puerto Rico (1978). Have worked as a Certified Court Interpreter/Translator since 1986 in court system. Have published translations under my name. Have gone from typewriters to TM tools. I am competitive, intelligent and reliable.

I studied English linguistics in University and fell in love with how languages work. I am bilingual (Spanish/Catalan) and ever since I started working as a teacher I developed a profound love towards teaching and working with the languages I know. I have translated some web sites, helped in the translation of a book along with many other small projects such as voice-overs, interpreting, etc.

I am a native Spanish speaker, formally educated in Mexico City, and graduated from a University before moving to the USA. I have been working as a Media and Marketing Consultant since 1994 and as a Spanish translator / interpreter since 1997. My professional field is in media communications, Spanish translation / Interpretation and also I have a strong background in advertising campaigns As a Spanish translator I have been working in different fields: press, archaeology, law, medicine, finances, technology, and engineering and in different promotional campaigns. My main experience is working translating and Interpreting in the Healthcare, Marketing, Education and Law fields.

I am a certified medical interpreter with years of experience interpreting in hospitals, schools and corporate settings. I always establish good rapport with clients and receive high marks for my work.

After completing a Graduate Certificate in Spanish Translation at George Mason University, which included an internship at the U.S. Library of Congress, I became a translator, exclusively Spanish to English, specializing in legal, commercial, and business translations. My work is accurate, on time, and culturally appropriate.

The last 8 years I have been working for the U.S. government translating legal documents and audio from Spanish, Portuguese and Russian into English. I also traveled abroad for interpreting assignments in Portuguese speaking countries. In the private sector I have approximately 10 years experience in the Medical /Pharmaceutical field translating medical studies, instructional booklets, and related scientific papers.
